Merry Christmas! These cute holly leaf and berry earrings bring a bit of the winter holiday to your ears, whether you celebrate Christmas, the Solstice, Yule or any other holiday.
Traditionally, Yule was celebrated by bringing greenery indoors to decorate, and holly was included in that. Holly was thought to possess protective powers, and sprigs of holly were also thought to offer shelter for fairies. The opposite of the summer's Oak King, the winter was the domain of the Holly King.
Even the Romans utilised it in their Saturnalia celebrations, decorating statues of Saturn with the plant. Made with polymer clay. Please note that as these are all handmade they may appear slightly different to the photograph as each pair is unique.
